TO CREATE AN ARTWORK THAT SPEAKS ABOUT A LAND IT IS NECESSARY TO IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE MEANDERS OF ITS FIELDS, IN THE VINEYARDS, WALKING ALONG THE DITCHES THAT CARRY WATER AND LISTENING THE FROGS’S VOICES, TALKING TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE AND WORK IN THOSE PLACES; BE WITH THE ENVIRONMENT AND WITH THE PEOPLE TO ABSORB, BREATHE AND FEEL THE LAND

PER CREARE UN’OPERA CHE PARLI DI TERRITORIO BISOGNA IMMERGERSI NEI MEANDRI DEI SUOI CAMPI, NEI VIGNETI, CAMMINARE LUNGO I FOSSI CHE PORTANO ACQUA ED ASCOLTARE IL CANTO DELLE RANE, PARLARE CON LE PERSONE CHE VIVONO E LAVORANO IN QUEI LUOGHI; STARE CON L’AMBIENTE E CON LA GENTE PER ASSORBIRE, RESPIRARE E SENTIRE QUELLA TERRA

Alla tenuta Bonotto delle Tezze si è svolta la terza edizione di Officina Malanotte, che coniuga arte contemporanea, ricerca enologica e riattivazione culturale del territorio nel cuore della campagna trevigiana, a Tezze di Piave, attraverso una residenza d’artista, una mostra e incontri aperti alla cittadinanza. Dal 20 maggio al 7 giugno 2024 quattro artisti – Paolo Pretolani, Fabrizio Prevedello, Eleonora Rinaldi e Giorgia Severi – hanno trovato negli spazi della tenuta un luogo di produzione creativa e un punto di partenza da cui stabilire connessioni artistiche e umane con le attività locali e con la comunità della Marca Trevigiana, in dialogo con il territorio.

The third edition of Officina Malanotte artist residency took place at Bonotto delle Tezze estate, in Tezze di Piave, in the heart of the Treviso countryside. The initiative combines contemporary art, winemaking research, and the cultural revitalization of the local area through artist residencies, exhibitions, and meetings open to the public. From May 20 to June 7, 2024, four artists—Paolo Pretolani, Fabrizio Prevedello, Eleonora Rinaldi, and Giorgia Severi—found the estate’s spaces a place for creative production and a starting point from which to establish artistic and human connections with local businesses and the community of the Marca Trevigiana, in dialogue with the surrounding area.

WHEN I SAW THE OLD OAK LYING ON THE GROUND IN THE ESTATE’S COURTYARD, IT WAS LIKE SEEING A BEACHED WHALE. I WANTED TO DEDICATE HER A PORTRAIT WITH DIGNITY, SO I PORTRAITED HER VERTICALLY.

QUANDO HO VISTO LA VECCHIA FARNIA ADAGIATA A TERRA NEL CORTILE DELLA TENUTA È STATO COME VEDERE UNA BALENA SPIAGGIATA. VOLEVO RITRARLA RESTITUENDOLE DIGNITÀ, PER CUI L’HO RITRATTA VERTICALE.

Nelle opere dedicate alla quercia e alle viti, ho cercato di immortalare frammenti del paesaggio come memoria della relazione simbiotica tra la gente e la terra. L’identità culturale è la ricchezza del territorio.
